The combination of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) with a downstream redox chemical looping cycle to remove trace oxygen is proposed for the production high-purity nitrogen from atmospheric air. non-stoichiometric perovskite SrFeO3?? selected because its favourable thermodynamics, rapid oxidation kinetics and intermediate reduction temperatures. Long term stability material was demonstrated over 250 cycles via thermogravimetry. Oxidation were measured incorporated in 1D convection–diffusion model packed bed reactor configuration. indicates that, targeted impurity level xO2<3×10?6, unit added PSA system could approximately triple capacity reduce energy demand 14kJmol?1 N2.
